SEARCH WARRANTS RESULT IN DRUG ARRESTS
(7/13/2006) NEW HAVEN – Members of the New Haven Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit executed two search and seizure warrants yesterday, 12 July, at two different locations in the Hill neighborhood. Four men were arrested as a result of the warrants, and a weapon, drugs and money were seized.
At 161 Lamberton Street, police arrested Angel Lopez, 26, Wilfredo Ramos, 24, and Eddie Ortiz, 22, of that address. All three men were charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school and operating a drug factory. Police seized a loaded .380 caliber gun, $208, about 12 grams of heroin with an approximate street value of $13,000, cocaine with an approximate street value of $700, cutting agents, empty baggies and other equipment used in the packaging and sale of drugs.
At 80 Rosette Street, Alfredo Ramos, 24, of that address, was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school. Police seized $931 and about 2.9 grams of crack cocaine with an approximate street value of $360.
